Is there a limit on accounts or documents?
No. Core and Complete Catch-Up include unlimited accounts (banks, credit cards, brokerages, retirement, HSA — as many as you have) and unlimited documents. The checklist's statement grid grows with every account you add.
Is CaughtUp tax advice? Will you file my taxes?
No and no. CaughtUp organizes and stores your documents so that you — or the professional you hire — can file. We don't prepare returns, don't give advice, and no professional relationship is created. Think of us as the step every preparer wishes you'd done before walking in.
I'm years behind. Where do I even start?
Start at IRS.gov, not your inbox. Your free IRS account lists every W-2 and 1099 ever filed under your SSN (the Wage & Income Transcript). Our checklist walks you through pulling it — that turns catching up from guessing into checking boxes.
How is my data protected?
Mandatory authenticator-app MFA enforced at the database layer, encryption in transit and at rest, per-user isolation, an append-only audit log, and SHA-256 fingerprinting on every file. Full specifics are on the Security page — real controls, not slogans.
Do you sell my data, or use it for AI?
Never. Federal law (26 U.S.C. §7216) criminalizes misuse of tax return information, and our policy is stricter than the law: your documents are used only to run your vault. No marketing, no data products, no AI training.
What happens with duplicates?
Every file is fingerprinted by its content (SHA-256). The same document can never enter your vault twice — even with a different filename, even months apart. The downloads sorter applies the same rule on your computer.
How do refunds and cancellation work?
Core ($99/yr) renews automatically until you cancel — online, in two clicks, no phone call; you keep access through the period you paid for. Complete Catch-Up ($299 one-time) has a 14-day full money-back guarantee. Details on the Billing & Refunds page.
Which languages does CaughtUp speak?
English, Español, 中文, Tiếng Việt, 한국어, Русский, and Kreyòl Ayisyen — the same set the IRS publishes taxpayer materials in. (Legal pages are currently English.)
Can I get my documents out?
Always. Download any document anytime, and Complete Catch-Up includes a CPA-handoff export of everything, organized by year. Deleting your account permanently deletes your documents.
Does the downloads sorter upload my files?
No. It runs entirely in your browser using Chrome or Edge's folder-access feature — your files are scanned and organized on your own computer and never sent to us. On Firefox, Safari, or phones, that feature isn't available; use the checklist and vault instead.
